Departure from Caserta at 09:00am for a full-day tour of the breathtaking Amalfi Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997.
The Amalfi Coast comprises 12 municipalities and numerous historical and artistic landmarks that represent its original identity: from the Roman villas of Minori and Positano from the 1st century AD to the medieval public and private architecture, from the precious goldsmith and artisan workshops preserved within churches and museums to the natural wonders of the Valle dei Mulini and the majolica domes of Vietri, emblematic of a world-famous ceramic craftsmanship. Everywhere lemon gardens that punctuate the dark green foliage year-round on the sides of the mountain descending towards the sea, blending with the changing colors of the water along this coast, ranging from blue to indigo to emerald. Our first stop will be in Sorrento, a fishing village that in the 18th century became the favorite destination of young scions of European aristocracy during the Grand Tour. We will then continue to Positano, the colorful gem of our coast where you will have about an hour of free time. The next stop will be in Amalfi, which was a powerful Maritime Republic, home to poets, heroes, and Torquato Tasso, inventor of the compass. No visit to the coast can be considered complete without visiting Ravello, the city of Music perched on the hilltop above Amalfi; here poets and painters created their masterpieces, composer Wagner wrote his Parsifal here, and the German poet Goethe dedicated a wonderful verse to Ravello: “The day when a resident of Ravello dies is a normal day, because he has already lived his entire life in paradise.”
